Аннотация
Золото используется человечеством в медицине на всем протяжении истории цивилизации: от защитных золотых амулетов до современных наночастиц золота. Статья представляет собой обзор литературы по использованию золота в медицине. Она отражает основные исторические вехи. На всём протяжении истории человечества золото высоко ценилось в обыденной жизни и неоднозначно воспринималось с началом его использования в медицине научными кругами, вызывая бурю споров и появление подчас противоположных мнений. В 20 веке появились контролируемые клинические испытания, что позволило научно обосновать, подтвердить одни и опровергнуть другие преимущества золота.
